About Jaz Creek

Big-barn facilities, small-barn attention

Jaz Creek opened in 2005 caring for broodmares and foals, competition horses and retirees, and that’s still what we do best. In 2022 the property was rebuilt around a 30,000 sq ft covered arena and barn complex, a jumping arena with custom footing, and dozens of all-weather and grass paddocks.

We board up to 40 horses, so we know each one: how they like their turnout, who their buddies are, and when something seems slightly off. Many of our boarders have been with us for years.

  • Full care with twice-daily feeding, daily stall cleaning and automatic waterers
  • Individual, small-group and pasture turnout, with foal-safe fencing throughout
  • Staff with decades of experience with sport horses, young horses and retirees
  • Hunter/jumper, dressage and all-discipline riders welcome

Facilities

Ride all year, rain or shine

The 100′ × 200′ covered arena is enclosed on two sides to cut wind and keep the footing consistent. The sand-and-textile footing was fully overhauled in 2025. Around it, the 30,000 sq ft complex holds 24 stalls, heated wash racks, crossties and tack rooms, so wet winters don’t interrupt your training.

Outside, there’s a 165′ × 270′ arena with show-quality jumps, a 90′ round pen, a five-horse Centaur Equineciser and a one-mile fitness track that runs up and down the hills.

Location

Close to Marin, Santa Rosa and San Francisco

We’re on Roblar Road in west Petaluma, in quiet rolling hills just a few minutes from Highway 101. That’s close enough for regular rides from Marin and the inner Bay Area, and easy for trailering to shows.

Marin barns are tight on space. Many of our boarders come from Novato, San Rafael and the rest of Marin County for the room, the covered arena and the turnout.

Testimonials

What our boarders say

Jaz Creek provided perfectly suited accommodations for all four of my horses, ranging from special-needs bonded retirees to both English and western show horses. Immaculate stalls, good quality hay, grass pastures and superb staff make it the best boarding facility I’ve ever experienced.

Cherie C.

I’ve had two horses stay at Jaz Creek. They always loved the large turnouts and attention. My last horse was born there and always loved coming home to Jaz Creek after his adventures. Jeanette and Angel care about each and every horse as if they are their own.

Aundra T.

Excellent care for horses, from foals to hunter/jumpers in training to retirees. Happy horses, happy owners, great facilities, and a nice relaxed atmosphere.
